She had 3 surgery’s on her legs and each one was crate rest from 8-12 weeks. I only did one leg at a time but she was putting some weight right after surgery but week 5 she was walking pretty well. The first time she reacted to pins used and then stopped walking again and had to have them removed. It is a long rough recovery. The first and second week were really bad and hard but it did get better.
