Yorkies stay puppies longer so 6 months is not much different than 12 weeks honestly. My youngest just turned 2 and she is still very much like a puppy except potty trained lol. My youngest boy is now 4 but he didn't start really calming down until 3 and even now can still get a bit hyper when playing. There are show breeders that will keep puppies longer to make sure they are show quality and if they aren't then they will rehome them. I got Ollie as an older puppy close to 6 months from a terrible breeder who couldn't get rid of him (her words) because he was bigger and unfortunately she never exposed him to anything so he was very timid and shy and is still that way but is a bit better so getting an older puppy is not always best either.
