Vet costs are not cheap. The care our pups get has really advanced and with that comes higher cost.
My advice is to get pet insurance. I have it and it gives me peace of mind. I have it for all of my pups. I found Pets Best to be the best coverage for the lowest montlhy premium.
I have a $500 deductible/year and after that I get reimbursed at 90% . I have not had any issues with this company.
And, I agree with Matese....you need to find a way to get your pup to the vet.
