Just weight is not how you determine whether a dog is over weight. Just because the Yorkie standard might say not to exceed 7 pounds doesn't mean any Yorkie bigger is over weight. Puppies really aren't seen as being overweight so I highly doubt it especially if your vet is not concerned. I think you are just going to have a larger Yorkie.
