I am so sorry. I hope your pups get stabilized and it can be managed for a long time.

I hope they do find genetic markers for this so that at least the good breeders can monitor their breeding pairs for it. Unfortunately, many breeders don't bother to do genetic testing so it will never completely be gone. We just need to educate people not to buy puppies from breeders who don't test.
