Do as you say, remove that pad, see how that works out first. Give it a month to 6 weeks since you say he doesn't do it all the time. If he continues to pee in the spot where the pad was, take a pad sop up the pee and place it outside where he normally pees.

At 10 weeks old and he makes outside consider yourself very lucky that the only pees on the pad every so often. He's still a baby, still learning.

Keep us posted when you remove the pad. Lets us know if it is working.
