They did xray and ultrasound, but I guess it is just how they are trained to read the charts/results. Because to have a correct diagnosis there are measurements that needs to be taken and the vet wasn’t able to do all of them.
When I went back to them I said I wanted to do echocardiogram for Teddy, but the vet wasn’t able to do them. She was honest about that.
I consulted our vet from years ago and he said he could do that, but he is in another town, a 2 hour flight from here. I am not able to go right now due to work arrangements, so we were discussing a possibility to have Teddy picked up by the airline staff and the vet people meeting him there. It wasn’t an easy thing for me as he is 11 and with the possible heart condition.
We were talking about different options when a colleague mentioned she knows a good vet from years ago who was very good, so I gave him a shot. He runs a small clinic, very modest compared to the clinic we were treating at. I wasn’t expecting much, and still thinking about the flying options. But as soon as he started explaining Teddy’s test results, it all changed. He took a lot of time to look through xray we brought in, but he did a new xray and ekg and explain everything. Explained why he is coughing more at night, how his runny nose prompted him to look for dental infection….alot of information actually. After he finished, the flying option was off right away.
