I had a pack of 3 girls, all 3 years apart. The two oldest went to Rainbow bride 6 months apart. The baby who was then 6 years old, my little clown and the diva of the pack went into deep depression when the second one had to leave us.
I was giving her 6 months to adjust to being the only fur baby. She never came around, she was not the dog she had always been. Month 7 I knew she needed a BFF. I was working, had little time for puppy searching. Also, this was the baby of the pack, the older girls spoiled her, made her the diva, I didn't know how she would handle being a mamma.
My cousin who lived close to me found a puppy, I went to see it and of cause she came home with me. When I got home and set that puppy on the floor, my girl came running out to this puppy like she was a long lost friend, she bonded instantly with that puppy and I got my little clown back.
The love these two girls had for each other made my heart smile.
I hope your Riley accepts the new puppy like my girl did.
