Was the male the first dog you had, then you bought the female home? More information is needed to help "you" to "try" to stop him.
You are doing the right thing by giving him more attention. Make him first in everything. Letting him potty first is a good start. Make him first to be fed, meaning, if they both eat at the same time, give him his food bowl first, then give the female her bowl.
If you go out, when you come, greet him first. If they get treats, hand him his first. Try this for a month or 6 weeks. If it continues, you may have to seek the help of a dog behaviorist.
