Weight can't determine if a yorkie is pure bred or not. Ollie is my biggest at 16 pounds and has AKC papers. Yorkies used to be bigger then what they are now they have been bred down. It is all about genetics and more then just parents and grandparents you have to go way back. I didn't have Ollie until 5 months so I have no idea what he weighed at 12 weeks. The breeder couldn't "get rid" of him and he was bigger then his parents and siblings by 5 months. I love bigger yorkies and the misfits of the yorkie community so I took him. Dixie was 3 pounds at 8 weeks and is 12 pounds now a year and a half old. Joey was around 3 pounds at 9 weeks and he is 16 pounds supposed to be 15 at almost 6 years old. I didn't get Penny until 8 months but she is sitting at 15 pounds at 5 years old. Ollie is my only one with reputable papers but that doesn't really bother me I just use them as a birth certificate.
