To preface: we’ve sent DNA for analysis so the question of parentage will be answered.

What should the expected size difference be in sweet little doggies with the same ma and paw? My supposed litter mate boys have a size differential that leads we owners and our veterinarian to suspect that we were ripped off. One is 3 pounds of pure Yorkie attitude and the other is a whopping 12 pounder that resembles my beloved, dopey childhood Schnauzer. This breeder was recommended to me by our previous breeder so it’s not like I picked her out of a phone book. I was told she was ethical at the time my former breeder had dealings with her……

When I finally made contact with the woman for our promised AKC papers (four months of avoided phone calls and I told her I was prepared to send my rep to her doorstep)…. I was informed that, golly gee willikers after reviewing her records she realized she hadn’t register the litter after all. Of course she could not explain to me why she stated she had done so and would be forwarding the papers upon arrival. (There were multiple witnesses.) Also told me the only reason to have papers is so the owner can name them. Uhhhhhh? WHAT? I want the papers because you advertised AKC puppies you silly woman. That might be fraud.

I’ve contacted the AKC and the AG’s office and will be pursuing restitution.

The nice AKC lady I spoke with said that there has been a rather large uptick in FRAUD since the Corona Virus Pandemic. Just a reminder to be vigilant. I never thought I’d fall prey to a fraudster.
