Here in the UK we are fortunate to have many places to enjoy taking our dogs for a good walk. I hear that in US you have Dog Parks, how spacious are they?

Are Dog Parks the only place where dogs are allowed to be taken on a nice long walk to explore the area and enjoy the adventure of being outdoors?
