I don't know that anything is entirely safe, but yet know we have to use things. Most tell you to keep the animals off for atleast 24 hours. Since things change year to year, just read carefully whatever product you are thinking about using and then maybe doing a web search to see if you come up with any bad info on it. Good luck.
