Thank you both for your replies. I did get a chance to talk to her, asked bunch of questions, saw the contract she requires, etc.. I'm about 70% she's genuine.
With that said, I think I'm going to go with the other breeder in MD. She's on the YTCA list (Laritza Rodriguez). When we conversed via email, she provided a lot of info and made me feel comfortable. She's also on the board for an organization called "yorkshire terrier club of the nation's capital". Not know much about these sort of organizations, I googled and I didn't see anything negative about it.
On another note... Several "breeders" approached me via FB msger. 2-3 of them, their first msg was "I have a girl that's ready to go, where are you located?" or something of the sort. I didn't even bother replying. Then there was one today that started off being very consoling. Which I appreciated very much. But then, she made me feel like she was trying to make a sale. I googled her and even found her name pop up here and not in a good way.
I'm glad I've gotten myself into a habit of researching as much as possible before jumping into anything. Some scammers are harder to notice then others. |
