Make sure your vet does blood work before the spay to ensure her liver can filter the anesthesia.
Blood work is very important, some vets will skip the blood work to keep the cost for the surgery down for their clients.
We all go through this panic mode when our babies need any kind of surgery. She will be fine, just make sure the blood work is done.
Many members use baby Onesie's after the surgery to keep the pup from licking the incision, just a suggestion. | I completely agree with Matese. Surgery is terrifying and worrisome, but if you trust your vet, those go down by half! Piper was in a lot of pain right after surgery, but I called vet and she said to up her pain meds for that afteroon. Once Piper could sleep her recovery was fast. She never needed a cone or messed with her incision (we lucked out). Good luck and God bless you and your baby; I know you BOTH will be fine. And please know you are doing absolutely the right thing by having her spayed!! |
