Unfortunately 2 days ago we had to say goodbye to Charlie with the help of our vet. She went peacefully with my wife and I holding her. She was 1 month shy of her 14th birthday.
Her ultrasound showed no digestive issues and kidneys that were poorly formed and almost unrecognizable according to the the internal med specialist.
I wouldn’t want anyone who has a pet with kidney disease to feel hopeless. There are numerous food options from Hills and RC.
The Renal Support D and KD stew that kept our girl going 16 months longer than our vet had expected. The UTCVM (Tennessee vet school) has vet specialists who will create specific diets based upon you dogs needs. We had 6 different variations created through them along the journey that helped us as well.
We are going to miss our baby terribly but we’re truly blessed to have had her in our lives.
Thank you to the yorkie talk forum for being such a great resource for our babies.
