Thankfully Cody has not blessed me with dead animals.
My 3 now passed girls were terrors, we went camping every weekend from May 1st to Oct.31 every year for 22 years. My middle girl Kajon was a bird chaser, always going after them.
It was early May, not many campers at the campground, Kia and Kajon could be off leash, they were pretty good at staying close. This one Saturday at our 7AM walk, Kajon takes off like a bat outta hell. I run after her, her face was covered in down feathers, no birds in sight but a lot of wild insane chirping in the trees above us. I had to assume she spotted birds at the base of the tree and took off after them, there are birds that will nest on the ground and there was an empty nest at this tree, Kajon must have snatched a baby bird, she must have been shocked that she actually caught what she chased for years and dropped it no sooner then it was in her mouth. The dazed look on her down covered face was priceless lol.
Both my pups were mighty hunters, but sweet, well socialized with all kinds of animals including my nieces ferret that Kajon would play peek-A-boo with on the bed behind bed pillows. I don’t believe if they caught anything, they would kill it.
