This is not something I would do or suggest. Flea collars are highly toxic if ingested. Never ever underestimate what a dog can do!

The best way to prevent fleas in the house is to prevent pets from getting them and bringing them in.

That said, if there are fleas in furniture and carpets, etc. there are many different solutions. I don't personally know what is best but there is a ton of information on the web on the topic.
