One of my now passed girls was not spayed, she wasn't a wee lil one. At age 10 years old we caught the pyometra right away, she underwent emergency spay, she lived another 6 months then went to Rainbow bridge, I guess it wasn't as early as we thought.

My first un-spayed girl had passed away from pyometra 6 months earlier, hers was not caught early, she had emergency spay but passed 9 days after the surgery. From my own personal experience I advise to please spay your baby when the tumor is removed.
