I should have requested more tests but I didn't. He had developed this spot again at about 10 years of age. At 11.5 years of age, he had started losing weight and his hair. Another Vet discovered that he was diabetic (meds could not bring his 500 BS down even on insulin). He looked really ill. I had searched the internet and felt that it may be Cushings disease. My Vet did not agree with my opinion. The Vet referred me to a Vet Specialist which on the second visit she had informed me that she had agreed with me that he was showing signs of Cushing's Disease. They had wanted to hospitalize Jacques at about $5,000 which I could not do. The Vet Specialist decided to work with me and do what I could afford over time but he died that night. We were never so heart broken about our Jacques. He was a beautiful dog who had beautiful hair. I would highly suggest that you take your dog to a Vet Specialist now as there are medications to slow the process on many diseases out there. I hope that your little Yorkie does not have this but I would not take a chance. I watched my Jacques die and it was horrible. I should have put him down a month earlier. This little dog would look up to me every time I gave him food. He was telling me "thank you". He is forever in our hearts.
It would be extremely rare for that young of a dog to have Cushings. I highly doubt that, that is what is going on. I had a dog that had Cushings and there is a lot more that goes into it then just a hairless spot.
