My boy is not a constant barker/ yapper, he'll bark if sees someone near the property or someone comes to the door.
Dogs have a keen sense of hearing, my guy barks if an ant crosses the road in the middle of the night.
I agree with teaching your pup to come, it can save his life. If no other training words are taught, the one that must be is to come.
Yorkies are known to have "selective" hearing lol.
