If he has Protein Losing Nephropathy there are other options medication wise besides the Enalapril. Perhaps changing the dose will be enough.
As for how long they live, the specialist told me one year with Olivia and she lived for a few years after that. They are not born with an expiration date stamped on their paws, so I choose to live a day at a time and try not to think about the end.

Thank you! I am also hoping Thumper responds to the medicine. We are trying Enaparil but the vet did mention some other drugs to try if this does not work.
He also did mention going on Kidney Friendly diet but I already told him Thumper is on Hill's Science K/D. He said that was fine. Thumper only gets treats from the Hill's Science that is prescription for a K/D Diet. I do not allow any table scraps. The other thing he is on that the vet mentioned was Fish Oils
