I can’t comment on Thumper’s specific medical issue, but I do have a comment about your current vet. It’s unlikely that any vet could give you exact answers to all of your questions. However, there’s a big difference between not being “all knowing” and not being friendly, empathetic or communicative. You shouldn’t have to go through this stressful process with a vet who won’t even try to answer your questions or give you a minimum amount of emotional support. If the vet won’t try to do that, I would find a different vet.
