I do remember Tibbe mostly always getting up onto and lying down on the couch and avidly watching everything I or we did in putting up and decorating the tree. He didn't move during the whole time, just watched like a hawk. Once the process was over and we started putting the ornament boxes, etc., away, cleaning up, he'd jump down and sniff all around the tree for long minutes several times the rest of that day. For weeks he'd walk up to and sniff the tree and the entire area around it. Seemed just fascinated by the Christmas tree but never took anything off it or disturbed the presents.
