I would say that 15 month stud would have a good sperm count. You can have him tested also. Now you have your progesterone tests and all to tell the exact time that mom is most fertile. I have nothing against that, but I'm too old fashioned. I let nature do it. I breed on the first day she will stand for him. If I get a tie, I seperate for 24 hours and go at it again. I usually don't allow them to tie more than 3 times. (although i have done 4, and my last litter was one tie, un-proven stud and produced 6 pups) You don't want to space your ties too far apart or you will have babies that may not be on the same pace of development.

forgot to add, yes his count will need to build up between ties to get the best results.
