Default Road To Recovery: Post-Operative Spay - Day Four

For those searching for more info on spaying, this is what we've experienced, thus far.

Thanks to our BLESSING of a vet, our youngest (34 month old) Yorkie's pain has been - and continues to be - managed well.

The following is a list of meds that our vet sent home with us to manage her pain and recovery well

-Metacam liquid. This is an anti-inflammatory pain medication.

-Gabapentin. This is a pain med in case she wasn't eating well - it may be given without food.

-Trazodone. IF NEEDED for additional tranquilization/calming during her post-op phase.

-Metronidazole IF NEEDED for development of diarrhea (SO VERY THANKFUL to share that she DID NOT need this medication. Long story short our vet followed our advice after their first attempt to spay her, 10/8/2020).

We did not have to place a 'cone of healing' on our pup until the third day.

On day two she started jumping up onto her favorite places (both inside and out). This caused puffiness around her incision. Metacam liquid (med mentioned above) to the rescue

So far so good
