My guy went through the same this, constant scratching under the nose area, was losing hair, skin was red and irritated. Took him to vet, he had environment and food allergies. He was put on Cytopoint shots every 4 to 6 weeks, I changed his food from grain free kibbles to regular food. Over a period of one year the scratching stopped. Now he has occasional environmental allergies issues, mostly in the Spring when the pollen count is high. The vet gives him a Cytopoint shot and a 3 day supply of Apoquel. If the pollen count stays high he'll get another Cytopoint shot 4 to 6 weeks later.
