Thanks for the responses everyone. Our yorkie is 15 as well!

We got her into the vet this morning and she was diagnosed with a superficial cornea ulcer or a small tear on the surface of her eye. She got prescribed some antibiotic eye drops, eye ointment along with a mild painkiller. The painkiller (gabapentin) is making her a bit loopy and uncoordinated so we may reduce the dose but we hope everything else is helping her make a recovery. Does anyone else have experience with that pain killer?

We'll monitor her closely and bring her back in after 5-7 days.
