Hello! I’m so sorry for your loss. I lost my beloved Callie June 11th. It is extremely hard. I feel lucky because I have 3 other babies to keep me going. All of mine have been bigger. I got lucky with 3 of them just being bigger but I knew my last one was bigger before getting because it was one of the reasons the breeder couldn’t get rid of him. My Callie when healthy was 17 pounds. My other 3 are 16, 15 and 14 pounds. It’s not so much that the bigger ones are rare it’s that in order to be considered a reputable breeder by most people’s standards you only breed to get the standard which is not to exceed 7 pounds. There are people who breed for bigger yorkies but whether they are reputable is anyone’s opinion I guess.
