I knew of this place ) let the child select a puppy. Because the child walked the dog everyday supervised by the grandmother, Cody was not allowed to sniff and greet because the child was holding the leash, grandmother didn't want a possible dog fight. So, for this reason Cody is not dog friendly. I raised all my puppies from 8 weeks old, they were socialized with all types of animals, cows, calf's, goats and yes dogs lol. I am soooo embarrassed when Cody goes into Cujo mode, ppl think this is how I raised my dog. Cody misses out on a lot of things we could do because of this. Not his fault, fault lays on his prev. owner. | See and Piper isn't "naturally" good with people; she's sweet, but shy when out and about and will let people approach and/or slowly approach them. But off-leash, in yard or house, she's aggressive. Over time, Piper has improved greatly, but I still gotta watch her...I think she may have been used for breeding (not puppy mill, but not a pet either) which would explain her natural bent toward other small dogs and discomfort around humans--especially guys. I got her when she was about three from an on-line offer; I got very, very lucky on about 12 different levels, believe me, I know! |
