My walking pups ended the week after moving from NY to Pa. My first week here I was going to walk the community with my then 2 yorkies, I got 5 houses away from mine when all of a sudden a huge Belgium Shepard was upon us. I scooped up both dogs. The man who owned the dog had him on a retractable leash. The man said he stopped to talk to a neighbor, his dog must have heard my dogs tags, pulled the retractable handle out of the mans hand and took off. He said his dog was friendly but my dogs didn't know that. Matese at 17 pounds and 5 years old was screaming out of fear, Schnae at 9 Lbs and 10 years old although a very friendly gal was in attack mode. That ended walks. I do walk Cody once in a while just so he knows the area and if ever got out he would know his way back. There are just to many lose dogs or dogs dashing out of the houses when the owner opens their door. Cody is not dog friendly, he'll take on any size dog. So walks within the community are not comfortable, plus always watching behind me to make sure a dog is not coming at us, then looking towards the sky for hawks. Cody's walks are short and far between.
