So just got some Wellness complete small breed puppy food to try. (I fed our last Yorkie Wellness and Innova and she liked them both).
Our new puppy actually pushed the RC to the back of her dish and ate the Wellness only. However it sounds like it is very hard as it crunches loudly as she is eating it. But I am sure that is ok. I will donate the other foods to a local no kill shelter
Dog food is not about simply ingredients. Royal Canin has vets on staff and are a good trustworthy company. Just because their food doesn’t look good ingredient wise doesn’t mean it isn’t, there is a lot of science behind their food. The reasons vets sell those brands are because they are tried and true and work. Although I don’t have anything against wellness Royal Canin is a great brand. Blue Buffalo however is not, they have had so many law suits against them for lying about their food it’s crazy. They also have terrible quality control, spend more on advertising then science behind their food and they have a huge history of causing stomach issues with dogs. Grain is not bad for dogs in fact many many grain free foods due to being high in peas, lentils and potatoes are causing significant heart issues in lots of dogs.
