OK this is where I am stopping my reading. I started reading and while my mind was blown about the posts regarding what your vet does, it was further blown by this post. This entire thread is honestly hard to read...wordy posts that I could barely sort through. No disrespect to anyone...it was just hard for me to get to the bottom of what was going on.

First off, I seriously doubt Cody was hurt from running around. You say he jumps a lot. I would work on stopping that with ramps and stairs. My guess is that was what hurt him....jumping down onto a hard floor. Of course just my guess. I have had some wild pups in my life and none have been hurt from running in the yard other than perhaps a torn CCL.

The main thing I am going to suggest is that you look into another vet since it seems you have to spend more time speaking to techs than the vet. I would not spend two cents in that place if I had to lie to get my dog seen by a vet. Of course in a normal practice IF it were truly an emergency, there would be no reason to lie. The practice you refer to is not what I am used to. I call, state the problem and IF the person I am speaking to says there are no appointments and I think it could be emergent, I ask them to ask the vet. Usually the vet will just say fit me in....OR at the least she will get on the phone and talk to me about my pup.

If a vet treated my pup without discussing treatment with me I would blow up.....that your vet did a chriropractic adjustment and you were informed by the tech, blew my mind.

When I go to the vet I park, call and let them know I am there.
The tech comes out and I brief him/her on why I am there.
Usually within about 10 minutes or so, my vet calls and lets me know what she sees and we discuss necessary treatments.
There is NO difference in care other than my not being in the building during exam and treatment. No big deal to me. I trust my vet explicitly.

I am going to scan the rest later when I have time. I just HAD to say something at this point. If you love your vet...that's great. I personally would not be happy.
