As others have said, you should ask the breeder about her reasoning. However, my guess is that one reason she recommends the Eukanuba is that you shouldn’t feed a very small puppy only a few times a day (which could lead to a dangerous hypoglycemia attack) nor should you leave raw food out for free feeding (as it could quickly go bad and cause illness). If I remember correctly, your Milo will be quite small (two pounds or so?) when he comes home, so he should have kibble available to free feed whenever he’s hungry. I can’t comment on raw food, since I’ve never used it, so be sure to research possible ill effects on puppies before you make a final decision. And, as was mentioned, be extra cautious about grain free diets; vets still learning of and researching the ill effects of grain free diets on some dogs. |
