I’m so forgetful to write things down if I run out of something I make sure to pick up an item or two as needed.
Right before this got bad, I ordered a freezer full of meat. It took a while with everything going on but at least I don’t have to worry about buying any for a year.
We have attempted to keep our freezer stocked...we loaded up in the beginning of the pandemic. My husband and I go out about once every two weeks to buy fresh produce, etc. first thing in the morning during senior hours. Due to staggered hours, and strategic planning, yesterday we were the first ones in the door at both BJs and Sam's club, and within the first hours at Walmart. Of course, we were masked and gloved. It took us a little under three hours to shop for everything we will need for two weeks, buy some additional meat, come home and sterilize all of our purchases. Then we processed and froze roasted tomatoes, blueberries, etc., and broke down large packages for the freezer. Luckily we have an outdoor kitchen, thus two family size fridges...when I worked I used to prep food for my family during my business trips, so this is not too unusual for me.
