This isn't just about our comfort or lack of same, it's about public safety during a pandemic. People are losing their lives, their jobs, their health insurance because of this disease and our economy is suffering and patients needing healthcare and tests are suffering if their doctor, testing center is closed or their hospitals overrun. Covid germs could be tiny enough to be aerosolized so that they float in the very air, explaining why it's so contagious. You don't have to go out among the public, you can order most things and stay home if you are uncomfortable mask-wearing and not forced to work to support yourself or a family or have an essential job.
It certainly would prevent you spreading any germs in the tiny droplets - 'droplet spread' - you emit when you speak, cough, sneeze and exhale. Mask-wearing likely protects those around you from any virus germs you may be carrying symptom-free but contagious just the same, particularly to those w/weakened immunity right then. Several health organizations studying whether it is aerosolized. Just wearing a mask when in out in public could save others from your germs. Many places open to the public won't admit anyone w/out masks and good for them! We've got to get a handle on this wild disease spread. Before long, states or the country may have to cut benefit checks, social security checks, needed services, raise taxes. https://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C...sclient=psy-ab | I don’t really want to get into an argument about this. The facts say masks don’t work. Most hospitals are also not over run. The media is making this a circus. I have a panic disorder and asthma as well as sensory issues from my Autism so I cann’t wear a mask and in Maryland the mandate says anyone with health conditions that would keep them from wearing a mask or anyone under 2 does not have to wear them period. I have a letter from both my psychiatrist and asthma doctor. I am also on disability for my panic disorder. My mental health as suffered massively from being in my house for over 5 months. There is no excuse for anyone to harass someone else let alone me without knowing my reason. There is always exceptions. I have been through this conversation with many people and it is a shame people are unable to look at how it feels to be someone else or be in someone else’s shoes. I pray everyone who can’t see things from those of us with invisible disabilities never have to walk in our shoes or be us because I regular times it’s hard enough but during this it’s even harder. I can not explain to you how it feels and how many times I have woken up wishing I didn’t and how devastating that feeling is. Again it is NEVER ok for anyone to harass anyone else!
