We have had to watch Teddy closely and give him meds when he starts to get a bit sickly looking....he is on Reglan and Pepcid daily but I have had to add Cerenia. Not thrilled about feeding him Z/D but he almost died on a lower fat food because the IBD flared.
Royal Canin has a hydrolyzed protein diet that "might" be less fat...I am honestly not sure. One of my fosters is on it for other reasons and seems to like it. |
Thanks for the great information. After this so called pancreatitis attack our other vet found that she did not have a pancreatitis attack. She got bloody diarrhea from Oravet chews and made her sick. She still had some softer stools. My vet in Arizona said to keep her on ZD because she is allergic to chicken and eggs. She has us add a little fiber in her food and now she is back to normal. She has nice tootsie roll stools and also is full of energy. All along the Oravet chews were making her sick and I am so glad this vet worked with us. Now we are back up in Minnesota and Kinder is doing great for a ten year old. She is full of energy and back to herself. I hope she has many years with us we love her so much. It is so hard to find a vet that will take the time to figure things out especially where I live. Thanks again Lady Jane you are so knowledgeable I love reading your replies helping others. I also miss Yorkie Mom from Houston never see her on YorkieTalk anymore. Susan
