Last time I got a dog, I saw lots of various ones and passed on lots of them based on their personality and not being a good fit. Because of that, I took my time and got the best dog ever.

The one time I got a dog, based on a picture not seeing it in person. I got screwed and the dog was unhealthy and died within a year.

I am also looking for recommendations for breeders in Colorado.
I just had a potentially catastrophic experience related to buying a dog via photo. In this case it was Parti Yorkie and "seller". seemed really responsible: wanted to know if I ever had a puppy, did I have a Vet, small children...etc. When I finally saw the photo's and videos, the puppy was adorable...and then....the puppy was in Oakland, CA, I'm in Los Angeles, No Problem, the seller told me, She had a delivery co and it wold only be $125 in addition to the $700 for the puppy - a very reasonable - almost too reasonable price - but the seller, Maria, only wanted a good home....blah blah....She wanted 1/2 down and for me to send the money through Zelle - most banks have that it's like Venmo. But, when I sent the the transfer - my bank put a "hold" on it, pending a review - Maria got very upset, told me to just cancel it and try again...I said I couldn't. - It turned out something in the transaction - where the money was being transferred that tripped the bank's fraud section. But I didn't find out that until later - but, once their was an issue with bank and getting the funds, "Maria" disappeared. DON'T BUY A DOG FROM A PHOTO. PERIOD. EVER. Later, B of A fraud division told me the reason why Maria wanted to use Zelle for the $ transfer - with Zelle once that $ is released you have no recourse - it's like cash. They advise never to use Zelle and Venmo with people you don't know. And, one other thing they said, most puppy scams will ask for the payment to made by purchsiing gift cards. Again - once that gift card is released/transferred the biyer has no recourse. Buy a dog that you see and see the dog's parents. Sorry this took so long.....
Meanwhile I'm still looking for a Yorkie. My last Yorkie Charlie passed recently and I'm bereft. It's going to take time, but I'll find one. You will too.. Also, about the Parti Yorkies - One Yorkie breeders site said the AKC does not recognize them. I'm not sure that's true or if it matters to you. Good luck.
