Ran into my share of show breeder/show dogs snobs here in Dallas, Texas myself, haha. Even networked into Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado back then. Have to roll w/the punches and keep on searching, looking at regular AKC puppies to see if you see the type of Yorkie you'd like except for the coat, then get breeder info from that new owner, talk to that breeder, keep trying to network. That's how I found my breeder, saw a litter, their sire I couldn't take my eyes off of and got his breeder info from his owners, passed on their pups, went straight to the source. There were a houseful of clones of that gorgeous sire! Can take up to 8 mos. to find your breeder, it took over 18 mos. of going, looking, talking endlessly to sellers, breeders, driving all over this end of Texas, to find mine. Then months to a year or more to wait for the just-right breeding, pregnancy, whelping, 4 mos. w/mom time, before I could bring my pup home and when the time finally came, I took thin, little runt Jilly over my chosen, long-awaited gorgeous puppy! Tiny little Jilly had so many medical problems, issues, but she was my love for 13 years.
If you are looking for a rarity, must be prepared to take even longer but a good search will teach you much about things you need to know about the 'business' of dog breeding/buying and that only scrapes the surface.
