Had to laugh because my mom is the same way! She's 53 years old and loves the newer bands. Nickelback is one of her faves and 3 Doors Down and many others. She laughs at me too because I'm stuck in the 70's. I love the classic rock and just can't get into the "new wave stuff". I'm 34 years old and like more of the stuff that I listened to as a younger kid that I actually heard because of her! She's always turning my daughters (ages 9 and 11) onto the new stuff - I guess someone has to, right?? But they also like all the classic stuff because I listen to it around them.
My mom recently took my sister and I (for my 34th birthday present) to see Carole King's "Living Room Tour". We've always loved her and the concert was SO great! That woman is absolutely fantastic still at the age of 62!
I say Enjoy the show and who cares if you're one of the oldest there??!! I bet you won't be!
