To me, the most important thing to owning a pet is a vet that you have 100% complete trust in. I have a fantastic vet, I trust her completely. I am with her since early 80's when she just opened her practice. She was a single gal, then married, than had her daughter. She is spot on with diagnosing an illness. If I did not have her as my vet, I would not own a pet.
