OMG! I'm so glad to live in a one story house with my two...Gus is the fearless one here and he constantly gets into crazy situations.. When he was about two he jumped right onto the solar cover and took several steps toward the middle of the pool. We immediately called him back; however his way of coming to us was to run across to the other side, then race around the perimeter of the pool deck. Luckily he was so little that he did not submerge the cover and fall into the water in the process, but he scared us both to death. Of course, his reaction was to lo look at us with the "what's the problem Mom?" expression on his impish face, lol.
I am so glad that Ollie was not injured, but commiserate with you over the fright!
