We have an 11 month old Yorkie (we got her when she was 8 wks old). She is my very first dog (and it has been SUCH a learning experience). Here is the problem... I think that I have overprotected her so much, that now she is not well socialized around other people and dogs. She sees visitors when they come to our house (our neighbors, friends,and family) and she plays with other dogs occasionally (another yorkie, and a lab), but the other day my husband and I took her to Petsmart, and she was really scared of the people and dogs there. The other dogs were so excited to see one another, tails wagging, but our little Mia hated it! She even snapped at a dog that was trying to play with her. I left there feeling like a terrible mother. Is it too late to socialize her, and what should I get her involved in? I don't want to shock her! Please HELP!
