Default Looks like my baby had a stroke

Maks is going to be 12 years old on July 3d. He was a happy healthy boy. He had some joints issues in the past but with some joint supplements and turmeric doggie chews, his joint problems went away.
He loved going on the walk, bark at other dogs and act like a macho man. He is 5 pounds.
On April 2nd, I told him we are going on a walk. He was ecstatic as always! While I was looking the door, he was barking in excitement. And in the next 15 second, he was down on his back, with all his legs up, screaming and crying... Everything happened in a split second.
I took him to the emergency room. They said it looks like a stroke. His right side was completely weak, head tilted to the left.
In the next 24 hours he lost his strength in his left side also.
Today is day 4. He is eating, drinking on his own just a little bit, I use a syringe to give him water. He is fully alert, not in pain, tries to bark at mail man and other dogs he sees through the window.
He can't stand on his own at all. Seems like he regain some strength and can sit with a support of a pillow.
But today he didnt pee nor poop. He tried peeing, but just a few drops came out.
We are trying to express his bladder, butnothing comes out.
I am posting here to see if anyone went trough such experience?
Because of coronavirus, I am laid off and cannot afford a $3,000 MRI. The vet put him on antibiotics and steroids. We will see his vet on Friday again for th he follow up.
Because of coronavirus, they couldn't show me how to express his bladder.
Anyway, I would love to hear some success stories about Yorkies recovering from a possible stroke and regaining their mobility again
Thank you all
