Instead of the $84.87 we now will pay $42.07, yes its a $700 out of pocket but its a better 90% as the $700 is a lifetime one pay for that condition not annual like HealthyPaws. Ginger so far is healthy and the $700 dollars is not that big a deal, we manly want it for catastrophic occurrence. Another point about higher deductible's is if and we do you save the $22 monthly savings, in 3 years you have it covered
I completely get where you are coming from. I have the highest plan possible ($250 deductible with 90% coverage) I am going to keep that as long as I can possibly afford it. I know once I can't I will first increase the deductible than start looking to lower the percentage back. Once I start doing that I will never be able to go back to what I had previously so that is my last resort.

I am glad everything worked out for you. We all have to figure out what is right for us each. There is no right or wrong answer in my opinion.

This post actually reminded me I need to follow up with them as they thought Thumper's fecal test was preventive. I am in appeal as he has pancrititis and they did the test to rule out parasites so I am waiting on the answer after they got the medical records. Usually they are good about looking at the invoice only but this time was not the case.
