Bad reaction to vaccine I was so scared! Yesterday I took Josie to the vet for a check up and they gave her a booster shot and a rabies vaccine. Everything was fine when we left but on the way home Josie threw up in the car and as we pulled into our driveway she collapsed and her tongue was blue and hanging out. She wouldn't answer me, so I rushed her into the house and put some honey on her gums ( I didn't know what was going on, I thought maybe hypoglycemia?) She started to come around a little then drank some water, then I took her outside but she still wouldn't walk and she had diahrreah. I called the vet and brought her back right away. Her gums were still blue and gray but she was walking again by the time I got her there. They gave her a steroid injection and benadryl injection then we had to wait for 45 minutes until her gum color was back to normal. They said she could have died and she had a SEVERE reaction to her vaccines. They told me she can never have more than one vaccine at a time again and before hand they have to give her bendaryl and a steroid again. Then keep us for at least an hour to make sure she is ok. I was soooo upset yesterday and I held Josie all day. I am afraid for her to have anymore shots. Has this happened to anyone else?
