The same thing happened to my 20 lb. bichon/poodle cross last winter. My husband left a block in the storage room and sure enought Winni got it. He bit into it but didn't ingest too much because i caught him in time and was able to piece the poison block together to see that he didn't, but he still ingested some. I did end up calling that poison control # and they charged $50 dollars to my credit card but the info they gave me was INVALUABLE. They had me get the info off the box..asked me all sorts of questions about how much he ingested and then gave me great advice. They said to give him one to two table or teaspoons, I can't remember how much...and it would induce vomiting. Within minutes he had vomited twice. It as awful but to be honest the small amount he ingested didn't get into his bloodstream because we made him vomit in time. I know people have been complaining about the $50 donation to these animal poison places but IMHO it's worth every cent. They saved Winni's life late on a Sat. night when we were miles away from a vet (we were up at out lake house in norther new hampshire when it happened in the middle of nowhere). As a matter of fact this past winter I called them to make a donation to their organization. The hotline is staffed by professionals and there is a vet on call that they relay all the info to and he/she gives her advice. Praying for that little furbaby and hoping it's okay. The problem is with some of those bait blocks the damage happens days later..they were desigened that way. Oh god praying!!! Hope there's something that can be done. Take Care
