The dog had bloody diarrhea for 4 months, the mother took him to 4 different vets, (I have all his medical papers the prev. owner turned over with the dog). She couldn't afford to keep paying vets. She was sending him to a shelter that euthanized dogs. My vets rescue team monitors high risk dogs, they saw Cody was 2 1/2 years old to be euthanized, they new of a NY rescue and Cody was relayed to NJ, then to Pa. I had him 3 weeks when I found out the story of his past.If he was re-homed the Grandmothers asked if the new owner could let them know how the dog was, that's how I found out Cody belonged to a child that was now 11 years old. I cried for him and this little girl, how do you take a beloved pet from a child.
Once a year I still send pictures and videos to the grandmother.
He was a gift to me from my vet. My vet got him better, he had a Stricture that needed major surgery. My vet performed the surgery at no cost to me. My city boy is a country boy 6 years now and lives the life of a true terrier lol. |
WOW! That family sure went through TOO MUCH!
I am happy to hear that Cody landed at with you. and Kudos to your vet too! |
