Bella maintains her weight at 6 pounds for over a year now and she will be 2 years old this April. Lots of times her kibbles are leftover the next day or two sometimes. I worried she doesn't eat much. I have to lure her with her favourite toppings and/or baked chicken pieces to put in with her kibbles. She tends to eat mid-day once and then again when it's close to bedtime or whenever she's hungry but she doesn't eat a lot. I know she's clever and holding out from eating and waiting for treats in between, lol.
Yorkies are just like humans--some days we eat more than other days. Our first Yorkie was a free feeder and didn't eat a whole lot. Some days he didn't eat but just a few kibbles and other days he ate everything I put out for him. He never had any health issues, maintained his weight and the Vet declared him healthy. He lived until he was 15. My Gidget is the same way. But she is also healthy, maintains her weight and is a bundle of energy at 4. After my previous experience, I stopped worrying about how much she ate or didn't eat. She's very healthy and active.
