We settled on Royal Canin PW fish and potato kibble moderate calorie kibble for Jackson and Weruva canned to mix with (usually the tuna flavor, but he seems to tolerate chicken okay so does well with Grandma's Chicken soup too -- both of these are acceptable fat levels on a dry matter basis as most cans are NOT). We continued feeding PW and still do but wanted a food as back-up that I could run up to the store and grab (one time it did not get shipped on time from chewy and no vets office in the area had it). NB fish and sweet potato was introduced slowly and lo and behold, his poop is ALWAYS better (firmer and a bit darker - basically a perfect poop lol) on the NB vs. the RC. But due to the heart concerns, we do not feed it full time. With that said, this is one the formulas that does not contain peas and legumes etc. so not AS concerned with it.

Dried Sweet Potatoes, Salmon, Fish Meal, Potato Protein, Canola Oil (preserved with mixed tocopherols), Natural Flavor, Potato Fiber, Salt, DL-Methionine, Salmon Oil, Minerals (Zinc Amino Acid Chelate, Zinc Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, Iron Amino Acid Chelate, Copper Sulfate, Copper Amino Acid Chelate, Sodium Selenite, Manganese Sulfate, Manganese Amino Acid Chelate, Calcium Iodate), Flaxseed, Potassium Chloride, Vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, Niacin, d-Calcium Pantothenate, Vitamin A Supplement, Riboflavin Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Folic Acid), Choline Chloride, Citric Acid (preservative), Mixed Tocopherols (preservative), Rosemary Extract.
Joey really really loved the limited ingredients one of their foods with the duck but I got kinda nervous feeding it and buying 2 types was kinda crazy.
